Hello, world
This is the first post on a site I built to have a durable place to write. Up until now, most of what I write — notes from reading, sketches of arguments, working notebooks — has lived in folders on a laptop or inside drafts that never quite leave the draft stage. I wanted a small, quiet space online where I could put things down in public when that feels useful.
My research sits at the intersection of urban and environmental economics. Two active projects: one on how cities absorb tropical cyclones, measured through consumption; another on what subsidized shared transport does to mobility patterns in Los Angeles. Both of those will get their own posts eventually — short notes on methods I found helpful, data oddities, things that surprised me.
Beyond research, I expect to write about tools (R, Stata, LaTeX, QGIS) when something clicks, and occasionally about reading outside economics. Nothing scheduled; nothing forced.
Thanks for reading.
